One of the most dynamic organizations on the B, H, S, campus is the Student Council headed by Johnny Rice and sponsored by Miss Blanche Mathison. Among its many acti- vities have been these: sponsored leadership training school, gave parties after all home football games, coordinated the successful Halloween Carnival, sponsored Twirp Week, collected food and clothing for needy families at Christmas, ran Jan Clark for State Secretary of M,A, S, C, , sponsored .Junior-Senior dance after banquet, gave a reception honoring winners of awards on Achievement Day, and prepared a scrapbook of the year's activities to be left to the school. In addition to these many activities, the Council has stood squarely behind every constructive achievement at the high school this year. With this we bring to a climax our Senior year, the best year of our lives. As all star-players do to make their part a success, we have worked hard, played hard, laughed a lot, and maybe even shed a tear. And we have loved every minute of it! We'd like to say a great big thank you to our beloved Senior Spon- sors and to our Parents for their unending patience through the years. To those who will play our parts in the future we say good-by and hope you have as much fun as we have had! 12 'f1'd :TV at Qs JOAN ALBRITTON As the bright sun glorifies the sky, so is her face illuminated with her eye. The Brookhaven High School Panther Band under the capable direction of Mr. Robert Moore has really done things this year. The Band's performances at foot-ball and basketball games have done much to help develop school spirit. The Band has cooperated in civic and school parades. This year the band has tried something a little different in giving concerts at Co-Lin and county schools, in addition to the regular chapel programs and the Pre-Contest Concert. The Band has made a good showing at solo and ensemble contest, state band contest, and individual tryouts for the Mississippi Lions All-State Band. The high-light of the year was the overnight trip to Pascagoula and the L. S. U. vs Ole Miss football game. The Panther Band is truly an organization B H S may well be proud of ip--.- -i.....,4 E.
