H Pre-Vue of Coming Showboat Attractions Let us look at the handbills descriptive of the activities of the Star performers of the Ole Brook Showboat ten years hence. Here is what we find: Sherman and Melba Jean now have three lovely children, Sot, Dot, and Tot. Mr. McVadon has a new partner in his pho- tography business, George Price. Curtis Boatman is their errand boy. The new history teacher at Co-Lin is Wesley Bozone, His prize student is Bill Hartman, who has at last learned how to study. Jo Lynn McDonald is still debating whether she should live in Texas or Mississippi. Benford Johnson, a noted New York artist, presented his third Art Exhibition last week. A thriving paper, The Bogue Chitto Times, is under the editorship of Beverly Busby. Louise Richardson, Lola Taylor, and Robbie Dale Valentine have decided that married life, rather than college life, agrees with them. Dr. Jean Claire Swinney opened her office two weeks ago. Her charming secretary is Bobbie Jean Price. Our Swoon-King, Davis Peets, is now on Broadway making l Want To Be Loved. The new teachers at B. H. S. in i958 are: John Perkins, Latin teacher, Sue Ford, expression, and Jerry Simmons, assistant coach. Believe it or not, Ham Smith has finally got up the nerve to propose to a girl, but the question is, Who is she? Jayne McGrath, a famous Powers Model, was married for the third time last week. Her only attendant was Mary Anne, who is pianist at the Stork Club. Benoit's famous designers, Sue Hamilton and Johnny Evelyn Douglas are labeling their new creations Johnny Sue, Clothes for Teens. Mrs. Leeman Britt, nee Exie Jackson, is running a day nursery to aid mothers like Peggy Paxton, who has three darling red-headed boys. We have four fine doctors: Winfred Lowery, a chiropractor in New York City, Robert Lee Durr, a veterinarian in McComb, Buddy Britt, a medi- cal doctor in Bogue Chitto, and Bobby Bee, a medical doctor in Utopia. Pat Smith did not heed the old proverb, lf you marry and do not change your name you will have bad luck. She married a Smith anyhow. Jane and Jean Price just returned from their honeymoon at Niagara Falls. They had a beautiful double wedding. Joy Day has an oil well and is getting rich quick. Enoch Case is getting rich by another method-he's selling a formula for reducing in ten easy doses. Mrs. Wesley Bozone, nee Joyce Lowery, just loves living at the teachers' home at Co-Lin. Evelyn McKee is now flying high. She is an airline hostess for the newly established Brook- haven airlines. Robert Vernon Smith, Edward Grenn, and Jess Robertson are now running a night club in New Orleans. Allene Thurman has been proclaimed Cham- pion Speed Typist of the World and is employed in the law office of Magee and Helmer at Bogue Chitto. - The Career Girls Club is growing more and more every year. They now have five more new members, Faye Coghlan, Margie Jackson, Ayleen Richardson, Emma Jean Fauver, and Jean Temple. Ruby Larkin has been proposed to by fif- teen handsome men up to now. But she has said yes to none. Donald Rushing is now the new manager of Walley-Field Drug Store. . Shirley Schlesinger has finally been pro- glloted to head saleslady at the Shirley Slipper op. Patricia Simmons has recently returned home for a visit, but will return to China, as wife of the American Ambassador there. We are expecting Evelyn Williams, a Pres- byterian Missionary from lridia, home soon. Jean Ulmer has been in the Navy since he finally graduated from High School and his rank rank is still swabby. Margaret Ann Summers is still journeying in that car of hers on the Road to Utopia. Diane Skirvin flew back to Oklahoma the other day where she will have a military wedding soon. Henry Smith now has a skating rink of his own, it costs only five cents to skate, too. Frances Nevels has established a beauty shop in Hog Chain, Mississippi. Betty Ann Malvaney is now teaching chem- istry at Ole Miss, where she is better able to keep up with her numerous boy friends. Phyllis Burns is teaching English there, too. Imogene Redden, after three hard years of work at the University of Alabama, is expecting to finish around l958. Robert Wand just married the other day. lt happened to be the l92O Belle of Tennessee. Joan Lovell makes an ideal mother to her four children. Her husband, Mr. Wood, and the children are residing in McComb. Guy Parsons is an engineer. He's helping finish the four-lane highway that runs through Africa. Billye Magee occupies an important posi- tion as secretary for the president of the Chicago National Bank. Jean Nevels, convinced that plumbing is a profitable business, is now competing with her best friend. The Three Musketeers, lra Jean Wafer, Nell Hoskins, and Jean Strother are hitch-hiking around the world. Jackie Hardy's Hot Jazz Band is now performing in the Blue Room in New Orleans.
