The success of our school can be largely attributed to the cast of students, the stars, who populate The Bronx High School of Science. You are the 50th Anniversary Class of The Bronx High School of Science. Therefore, it is appropriate to say that this class is a Golden Jubilee gathering--in many significant ways you represent all the young people who have come to the school and contributed to its strengths. Your acceptance and support of one another, and the many networks which you have formed among your fellow students, have created a very special ethos in the school. Much like the leading characters in a production, you have each played an essential role. And just as there is diversity of concept in film and art, so is there, also, diversity and uniqueness in your class. It is these individual talents and differences that enrich the experience of us all and enable each of us to learn from one another. Since the curtain went up fifty years ago, Bronx High School of Science students have gone on to play leading roles in our society and culture. You, as this special class of graduates, have already made important contributions to one another and to the school. with the preparation you have received here, you are now ready to excel in college and beyond.
