Enthusiastic Football Cheerleaders Stimulate School Spirit The varsity football cheerleaders braved the wind, rain, snow and cold of the fall weather to encourage our football team to one of its best seasons in several years. During the summer they attended the National Cheerleaders Association Camp at Hope College where they received helpful instruction and new ideas. Darby Wiler and Kevin Kehoe served as the team’s captains. Don Carpenter, Micky Smoker, Scott Carpenter, and Kevin Kehoe were placed on the 1st team All-Conference list while Scott Turner, Dave Pavlov, and Doug Hughes gained Honorable Mention. Randy Hyska received Special Mention. Scott Carpenter was named Honorable Mention All-State and Scott Turner Special Mention. Coach Joe Fisher noted that his defense did an outstanding job, giving up an average of only 6 points and 188 yards per game. 22 Football
