Following this, the parade and snake dance wound its way down through town to the football field. The parade was led by the B. H. S. Band, and was followed by the floats representing the Senior Class, Pep Club, G.A.A., Varsity Cheerleaders, and the Eighth Grade Girls' Phys. Ed. Class. During the halftime of the game, the new king, Mike Poling, and the new queen, Marcia Pugli, were crowned. Later in the evening, the new king and queen, along with their court, reigned over the dance. The team also entered into the occasion by scoring three touchdowns. Seniors Present Many hours of hard work were spent on this year’s Senior Play, Drums of Death.” For each and every member of the cast and crew, their sincere efforts paid off when the play was presented on Friday, November 11, 1960, Many thanks are extended to Miss Patricia Chisholm, under whose skillful and meticulous direction, the Senior Class was able to produce a very successful and enjoyable play. By the time they realize that the telegrams that summoned them to this place were false, it Is too late for them to escape from this weird place. They struggle to solve the mystery of this place, the cabinet containing death, the hooded figure, the ghost, the monster, and back of it all, the insistent, dull, throbbing signal of the mysterious drums. Under this system, both teams added up the averages of their players. After both totals were found, then the team having the highest total gave 75 of the difference to the other team. This way, if a less skilled team is playing a better one, they can have a good chance of winning. Mrs. Henry Piatt devoted much time and effort in helping the girls learn how to become better bowlers. Karen Czajkowski shows us how it's done. - 17 Varsity Club Initiates 16 New Members Pictured at the left are the officers and advisors of the Varsity Club. By emphasizing the past and future, these classes have made our students aware that history is real and timeless. Through these subjects, the students have learned more about the functions of our government, and more about people and their ways of life. They have discussed problems and prospects for the future of the world. Teaching these subjects are Mr. Brusak, Mr. Kinsey, Mr. Whitcomb, and Mr. Atkocunis. United States History is taught by Mr. Kinsey. Seventh grade geography class. Members of the social problems class try to communicate verbally, but without visual perception. Also in our curriculum is speech, which is taught by Miss Chisholm. In the language department of BHS, students may take two years of Latin and Spanish. These subjects not only teach the students to talk in that language, but they also teach them more about the ways and customs of the people in their countries. Second-year Latin class, which is taught by Mrs. Tharp. Max Slisher acts out part in Julius Caesar. Members of the speech class learn how to apply make-up. - 39 - Students Learn to Drive Teaching future drivers all about the automobile, is the chief purpose and aim of the driver education course. Mr. Atkocunis Completes Final Year as Head Football Coach ikes Have Tough Luck Season The 1960 Bronson Viking squad had a stormy season this year. The record shows that they lost 7 and tied 1. Although this was not an impressive record, we should salute the team for not quitting when the going got rough. Injuries and personnel losses took quite a toll from the squad; however, the Vikes kept fighting and a marked improvement was shown by the end of the season.
