On the second day of September, 1947, seventy-five very serious faced freshmen enrolled in B. H. S. It was their first encounter with Senior High School, and they were not too sure of themselves, but under the careful direction of Miss Dora Anderson they got through all right. The Freshman Initiation was indeed a life saver and helped them to get better acquainted with the rest of the B. H. S. students. As sophomores with Mr. Moyer as advisor, the class sponsored many sandwich sales in order to earn money. Class rings were ordered in the fall and the class became known as the class of 1951. When the clas sof 51 started school as Juniors they were indeed very busy students. They sold refreshments at all home games, and sponsored two bake good sales to add to their treasury. The Junior play, Grandad Steps Out netted $232.99, breaking all previous records. A well stocked treasury helped a great deal when it was time to put on the Junior and Senior reception, the theme was South Pacific. Mr. Hilton was our class advisor. As Seniors fifty-six members are still with us. Of the fifty-six graduates, eight have been together all through school. They are Betsy Hilton, Buz Littlefield, Jean Hollister, Ronnie Hartman, Dorothy Laughry. JoAnne Bawden. Betty Nelson, and Nancy Fair. Janean Honeywell was chosen D.A.R. girl. As the Viking goes to press, the big topic among the Seniors is the four day Skip-trip planned aboard the S.S N. American. The trip will start at Chicago, visit Mackinac Island and Sault Ste. Marie, and end at Detroit. The air is also buzzing with ideas about the Junior-Senior reception which promises to be a most enjoyable occasion. The climax for the class of 1951 will be the Commencement Exercises. May 31st, and at long last a High School Diploma. Betty Bohacz Janet Kostielny 15
