L-.X v ,J Lf 1mufmmAav.mm.frm' Semor Play A three act comedy Structly Formal was presented Fruday evenung March l5 un the hugh school audutoruum at 8 l5 to a large auduence The play was durected by Muss Betty C-ruffuth and Mr Jenkuns The cast uncluded sux boys and ten gurls Three boys Dwaune Burrows Herbert Woodcock and Bull Calloway were borrowed from the junuor class and Layne Short and John Page were borrowed from the sophomores In the play Jane and Sally were stull wuthout a date for the J S dance whuch was only two weeks away Thungs looked rather bad for the gurls when Marcua Sallys cousun from New York Cuty came and vamp d theur boy truends Then to top thungs off Cundy Jane s cousun from Deucyvulle arruved and un tryung to tux thungs up made matters even more complucated ln the end after Marcua took the mumps the complucataons were uroned out and all were happy by the evenung of the dance The characters were Jane who hasn t a date for the dance Shurley Ramsey Sally her best fruend Joan Page Agnes the maud of all work Maruan Thompson Andrew Cutler Janes father Dwaune Burrows Nettue Cutler her mother Anor Popp Mr Ahern a neughbor Bull Calloway Rose Tulton who gets the mumps Norma Jean Roof Mrs Tulton her mother Lorene Woodward Josue Tulton her kud suster Madge Lukely Elroy who Iukes to put the shot Kenneth Funfrock George whom Jane us sweet on Herbert Woodcock Marcua a truple threat from New York Suedena Marzolf Cundy Colluns a gurl wuth udeas Vurgunua Johnson Marulyn who us after Elroy Wanda Muller Lt Bob Cunnungham of the Aur Force John Page T e musuc for the play was furnushed by Mrs Sanders and a group of gurls from the musuc department They sang Beautuful Dreamer and I Hear You Callun Carolune The strung truo played Londonderry Aur Senuor Snack lt was an excutung day when we twelve gurls and the one lone senuor boy accompanued by our sponsor Mr Jenkins and hus wufe met at the Rex Cafe Aprul I2 to goto Branson Mo un the Ozarks We went un cars that were furnushed by Jerry Wrught Lloyd Broughton and Charles Martun At 6 55 p m we reached Branson and went durectly to the Sammy Lane Resort where we had reserved cabuns un advance These cabuns were A M 1 J .2 Qu . V GV Q .A Senlor Snack wonunuedb on the beach of Lake Taneycomo We ate our furst meal uptown and some went to see Doll Face star rung Carman Maranda and Perry Como at the theatre The next mornlng we went shopping for groceries for breakfast After breakfast we spent the forenoon row boatlng hnknng and xnvestlgatnng the town and nts outskrrts After lunch we started to Forsyth to the Powersute Dam Here we looked down upon the dam from the hlll but went around to the other slde so that we mught be able to get a closer vtew We walked under the dam to the other snde lt was very unterestung and a beautuful slght We est: mated rt as beung 850 feet long From Powersute we went to Rockaway Beach Here we hlred motor boats and a speed boat All had an enjoy able boat rude When we were once again an Branson we started further lnvestlgatmg and roaming about Most of us went row boatang agaln that nlght The next mornung Lloyd Broughton had to be back early so fnve of our number Wanda Anor Madge Evelyn and Kenny had to say goodbye to the Ozarks brlght and early They left at 5 30 for thenr return trup to Bran son and reached Mt Vernon about 7 00 where they ate breakfast They arnved back nn Bronson at 10 30 a m quute tared and sleepy but happy from the trap Those of us remaanunq ate breakfast In the cabuns then we packed our belongangs and were on the way back to Bronson at 9 20 a m We went around by the offuce of Marvel Cave but declded not to go through the cave We stopped by Old Matt s Cabln and saw some very lnterestung snghts there Then we went up to The lnspuratuon Ponnt We ate lunch nn Aurora and looked about for lust a few mlnutes We arruved back home at approxumately 4 OO p m All were tnred from the trlp but all had had one wonderful week end that we can always remember unlor Senlor Banquet Fnday nught Aprul 26 proved to be an excellent nught for the Junnor Sensor Banquet at Bronson Hugh School The guests gathered ln the scsence room whlch was arranged as a receptlon room They entered the banquet room through a gateway over whlch grew roses and other flowers The decorations carrued out the rannbow theme A large raanbow span ned one end of the garden dlrectly behind the speaker s table There was 'Tx V A A ,. - ' C A 4 ' V - ll II - I x .
