Q 1 Q Class I-llstory ln the fall of i942 twenty one green freshmen enrolled at B H S to start their high school career Class officers were president Joan Page vice president Helen Stover secretary treasurer Marian Thompson student council representatives Bobby Clayton and Shirley Ramsey Mrs Uleta Shultz was sponsor and Miss Sadie Merritt co sponsor Their first social event was a Baby Party at the school house in honor of the senior class The first business adventure of the class was the sale of magazine subscriptions sponsored by the Curtis Publishing Company The class proved to be very efficient salesmen with subscriptions amounting to Sl l8 50 When the class returned for the sophomore year their total was fif teen Class officers were president Joan Pag vice president Betty Wol ford secretary treasurer Marian Thompson student council representatives Harold Perry and Mary Frances Reagan Mrs Uleta Shultz was again sponsor and Mr T E Osborn co sponsor The junior year was o very busy ard happy one The enrollment was thirteen Joan Page was elected president for her third cor-secutive Year Shirley Ramsey v ce president Mary Frances Reagan secretary Betty Wolford treasurer Lorraine Clemings and Shirley Rams y student council representatives Mrs Norma Smith was sponsor The junior play Those Phinney Girls was presented November l6 at the auditorium before a large audience. A pie supper sponsored by the junior class was given February 7. The climax of the year was the Junior-Senior Banquet given at the School house May 3. A patriotic theme was carried out in decorations and program. A very good time was enjoyed by all. For the senior year thirteen returned to complete their school. Offi- cers were: president Shirley Ramsey- vice-president Betty Wolford' secre- tary-treasurer Marion Thompson' student council representatives Kenneth Finfrock and Joan Page' class reporter Norma Jean Roof. Mr. E. W. Jenkins was sponsor. Their play Strictly Formal was presented March l5 at the audi- torium before one of the largest audiences in several years. V ' .FA39'.EAs'Tf'.XElSTA1l A J Prophecy One lovely summer day rn l960 I decrded that I Suedena Marzolf needed a vacatron so I left the beauty shop an the care of my busrness partner and assrstant Vurgrnra Johnson Wrllrts and went home to pack My famnly trned to persuade me to stay at home but I had defrnrt ly decrded to vrsrt my old classmates and would not change my mnnd I had just frnrshed packrng when the telephone rang To my utter sur prrse at was Wanda Muller She had just arrived rn town on a vacation She rs now the prrvate secretary of the owner of a large busrness establrsh ment In New York Cnty We had lunch together at an exclusrve club owned and operated by another of the Class of 46 Anor Popp The food was delucrous and the entertalnment was srmply super Anor IS the same lovable lrttle blond she always was lonly her harr rs even Irghter now due to the use of peroxudel but somehow she gust never found a man that surted her Anor panned us and we went to a concert grven by Evelyn Gorman and her all gurl orchestra They had just frnrshed a world tour and had been voted the world s best orchestra Evelyn s husband rs a concert planlst but I can t remember has name They met somewhere In Europe where they were both studyrng the art of musrc Evelyn stull uses her maaden name In her career work vacation wrth school frrends of other days so we decrd d to go together Wanda spent the nlght at my home and we were all ready for an early start the next mornung but the worst was yet to come The next mornrng Junror my oldest son had the measles We were quarantrned for two weeks and Wanda had to wlre for an extension of tume Finally though we got started on our way and arrrved safely rn Bronson The frrst place we went to vlsvt was the home of Betty and Dwalne Burrows Betty and Dwame have been donna very well In their hatchery busrness In fact they are sand to be the most prosperous famrly rn Bron son One reason for this as that they don t have to hrre any help to do the extra work In the hatchery The fave oldest of their erght children help to handle all the work wrthout any trouble at all The next day Betty took us shopprng I was surprrsed to see how Bronson had expanded srnce I last saw It It as several trmes as large as rt was ln I946 and as now one of the most Important crtres In that part of the country I wanted to get a new sunt so we went to the Norma Jean Shoppe lt rs a very exclusrve dress shop belonging to Norma Jean Roof She makes her own desngns and they are foshnoned and modeled rrght there an the shop by some of the best seamstresses and models rn the world Women come from New York Hollywood and even from Europe to buy clothrng dergned by Norma Jean N1 5 I f 1 0' 4 , tl 6, 42 Qs 6 Q9 .
