DEB CATIIU To Virginia Cole A little fleet on a quest divine She sailed from her friends in the summertime: She spread her light as she left one day And folded her work and put it away. Now our class has less of brightness, Words are too narrow our grief to express God s fingers touched her as she slept And she left this l1fe of mortal breath Our loneliness and our bitter sorrow, Will be sorely felt on each tomorrow The radiant light she left behlnd, Will ever shine on each one s mind, For she had steeped her soul in prayer, T h o elp us all the anguish to bear. s 4 5 9 A 1, Q s A e not QQ, ' ' s 4' .ps 0 n -'-' . 2-:-2-.-, sf :33:Z-S-I : 'una . . . 6, . :..:,F.'.4 1 . .., I s 4 uv' r O -6 9 Q .'.' The paper was published three times a semester, making a total of six editions. Included in each copy were: the interesting Senior Album, juicy personals, class and organ- ization news, humorous features, a peppy sports section, as well as special accounts of outstand- ing happenings. Several members of the faculty and of the staff wrote a number of thought pro- voking editorlals during the year, The splendid art work for the covers and headings was done by Merritt Winchester and Karen Orvis. Many thanks are in order for Mrs. Schwengle and Mrs. Mayo whose wonderful co-operation made the success of the paper possible. -KDK-Cir STUD NTQ UNQXXL ck row lei: to rrghtl Burdrck D Gumher D Myers L Myers 9. Clark, C, Koozer, THE INNER WILLY, a three-act play written by Bettye Knapp, was presented by the Junior class on November 21 and 22 under the able direction of Mrs. L. R, Hagood. The cast of characters consisted of: Willoughby Adams - - - - Kenny Clark Inner Willy ----- - Aunt Hester - - Aunt Louise - - Aunt Olga - - - Stanley Clark - - Mike ------ Marybelle Turner - - - - Janet Marshall - - Trudy Marshall - - - - - Claris Robinson Lloyd Ramsey - - Elvera Jezbera - - Nedra Brown Ann Butterfield - Chuck Koozer - Marvin Keller DeAnn Browning Madge Haumont Mary Willenberg M Hlffnllgls mniifff For sixteen years Willoughby had been a good boy, and had submitted to the s-mothertng of his three maiden aunts, Hester, Louise, and Olga. He practiced the piano - for which he had no talent, drank gallons of cod liver oil, ate turnips - which he detested, and allowed his aunts to argue over his future career. Inwardly, however, he rebelled - so much so that suddenly - there was his inner self in person! Inner Willy came to his rescue by goading him on to a better life in which questions pertaining to Willoughby were settled by Willoughby himself. Immediately, Willoughby found himself with three dates for the prom - a situation that might have become a bit overbalanced had it not been for his friends Mike and Stanley, and the sly maneuvering of Inner Willy. The vivacious red -haired twins, Trudy and Janetg Marybelle, a plain girl fthe aunts' choicejg and Carol, Willoughby's secret love, all complicated Wi1loughby's life, but, Inner Willy caused love to find a way, and everything ended happily with the vanishing of the no-longer-needed INNER WILLY.
