The purpose of the Art Department is to develop the appreciation and creative abilities of the student. Art is a way of life. Art Edu- cation should be regarded as one means of securing emotional and mental balance in living. The individual differences in students are recognized. This Junior high art student prepares for a scene in the annual music-art department Giristmas program. Rodney Armstrong mixes molding plaster for one of his assignments in Art Ill. The purpose of stagecraft is to assist in the building of stage sets for the many school dramatic and musical productions. These stu- dents construct and erect flats for the stage and also operate the auditoriLu'r1 lighting system.
