secono GRADE THIRD GRADE AMERICAN EDUCATION WEEK PARADE With the help of the teachers, students, par- ents, and townspeople, American Education Week, November 9 to 15, was very well recog- nized in Broken Arrow. More than 2,000 spectators attended the all- school parade and said that it was one of the most interesting events of the year. Approxi- mately 1,350 paraders representing some fifty classes and organizations participated in the parade. The school awarded a total of S50 to the top seven floats. First prize went to the second grade for their float portraying Mother Goose and her famous characters. The story-book float of the third grade, won SENIOR HIGH HOMEMAKING second prize, with five third prizes going to the Junior class, the high school boys' and girls' home economics classes, the fourth grade, the Junior high girls' physical education group, and the first grade. Judges of the parade were: Mrs. H. C. Ander- son, Mrs. J. M. Hall, Mrs. W. J. Harmon, Mrs. Charles Regenhard, and Mrs. Albert Shanks. That same night the parents of the Junior high and Senior high school students attended open house at the high school campus, getting ac- quainted with the teachers.
