Thanks to the help of all the writers, photographers, artists, and editors, the paper was a tremendous success. This year was a year of change within the paper, as it attacked more controversial issues with more intensity than ever before. Many thanks to Mr. Miele for his help, guidance, and, most importantly, dedication. The staff wishes to thank all others involved in the production of the paper, and to wish continued success to next years staff. - Bryan Hilliard Literar Review -I 7 .X . Q - V-sf' Nfl pn The B.H.S. Literary Review is one of the oldest organizations at Brockton High. It stated in 1907 under the name Brocktonia. Today it remains an extremely active organization with approximately 50 active members. The Literary Review provides a forum for talented student writers to publish their work after peer evaluation. The Literary also exchanges copies of the magazine and ideas with other schools. In addition, the seniors of the magazine give a gift to the high school each year to express their appreciation. Not only are those students who are involved in the writing aspect of the magazine important, but also those students in the Industrial Arts program. Without these students the magazine would not be able to function on such a professional level. Currently, the club's advisor is Mr. Mark Lincoln, an English teacher in the Yellow house. The Artistic editor 's Grace Burr, a student at B.H.S., whose work has been featured in National Publications. Each committee is designed to represent Brockton High and voice B.H.S. students' views and ideas to different School Committees. The eight Regional S.A.C. members attend meetings once a month in Lakeville at the Southeast Regional Education Center. The members are split into Task Forces to work on social, education, and economic issues that are affecting students across the region and across the state. They learn what privileges students from other schools have, and they learn what the law says regarding student rights. The local S.A.C. members attend the Brockton School Committee meetings. They learn about what is happening in the Brockton School system, and can voice their opinions on the issues discussed. Our goal for this year is to raise 33000 for the juvenile Diabetes Foundation and to collect 3,000 signatures for a POWXMIA petition drive.
