J: To the Class of 1978: It is my hope that upon graduation, you will not lose touch with Brockton High School, your friends and, now, former teachers. Ours is the most mobile society the world has known. Where will you be in five - ten - fifteen years? Let's be realistic, you are going to face crises in the future, and you will realize the true mean- ing of friendship. A lawyer, now a famous judge, once told me that in a crisis, if you can count your friends on one hand, you are a very, very fortunate personf, Certainly you have acquired knowledge, concepts and skills during your public school education, but there are other facets to life as well. Stay in touch with the friends you have made, for as you grow older, you will quickly realize the rare value of a true friendship. Attend your reunions, drop a note or call a former friend who may be in difficulty. Above all, remember that graduation d-ogg Q mean the end of your educa- tion or your interest in Brockton High School and - most important - it does not mean saying good-by permanently to the friendships you have made over the years with your classmates. In years to come, the above message will ring true! Every best wish for your continued success and good health. Sincerely, John M. Mahoney
