0 it uf... ,4 6.0.4.4 As we look back at cur senior year, we realize that it was truly crowded. For the first time the assembly hall was used by pupils for study purposes, books and handbags were heaped on adjacent chairs, and our unsteady knees were our only desks. The signal for each recess was a call to stampede, and the lunchroom was so jammed that many times we ate our friends' lunches instead of our own. So crowded was our schedule that hardly had we received our books, when we were herded into the library to be measured for caps and gowns, those symbols for which we had yet to do so many months of study. Not only was the school filled to capacity, but so too were our personal lives. We had many deadlines to meet: class dues had to be paid, yearbook pictures taken, proofs okayed, autobiographical sheets completed, college applications filled out, and college board tests taken. At long last we had something pleasant to lock forward to - the Senior Prom. Although Toujours Pareen involved many details and much hectic preparation, the success of the prom rewarded those who worked so diligently. Before this big event the girls swarmed to buy dresses and to have shoes dyed to match, while the boys reserved tuxedos and ordered fowers for the girls. At last graduation time was upon us, and that, too, necessitated long hours of practice and rehearsal. Many times a student found himself due at graduation rehearsal, class prophets' meeting, and afternoon session all at the same time! lt was true that often the corridors, lunchroom, and assembly hall were jammed, and that twenty-four hours were not enough for one dayg but, nevertheless, the rushing to beat the deadlines was well worth it. 81100 itll:
