Now on to the Library where we find our Library Monitors amid stacks of books, magazines, and filing cards. Under the direction of Miss Helen Converse, Monitors perform such duties as preparing classroom loans, checking out books, collecting fines, and assisting students to find information. This hard-working group helps to make the library a cheerful place in which to Work. 17

This is the place where Brocktonia is planned and developed, where last-minute news is hurriedly called in, and where activity never ceases. This year editors-in-chief, Ioan Kvaraceus, Iudith Mechaber, and ludith Stone were proud to have Columbia University bestow a second-place award on Brocktonia tor its excellence among school publications. 16

The jingle of coins sounded to the tune of urgent appeals for money informs us that we are approaching the headquarters of our Dues Collectors. Although these students meet in Room lll each Monday to make the returns for their respective homerooms, they can be found almost anywhere prodding, pleading, and persuading. 18 X t 4
