Barbara Fireman This year 'Brocktoniau was honored by the Columbia Scholastic Press Associa- tion in being awarded second place for excellence arnong senior high schools with l,5OO to 2,500 enrollment. Another notable event is that Brocktonia added new features as well as increasing its publication to an issue a rnonth. The staff was under the direction of Paul Sullivan, editor-in-chief: Barbara Hickey, news editor: William Marks, photographic editorg Alethe Flint, literary editorg and Patrick Moynihan, sports editor. Our sincere thanks go to faculty advisers Mr. Francis Hopkins and Mr. Nornian Nash, and also to the hard- working literary, circulation, and advertising staffs ior their loyalty through- out the year. 28

Bosworth and the commercial staff, as well as all the other teachers and pupils who assisted us. The Brockton Hi-Y Club completed another successful season under the leader- ship of Mr. Malcolm Brooks. With an enrollment ot twenty hiah school boys the club carried on a hiahly successful proararn ot activities. The Older boys' con- ierence was held in Brockton this year, and the local club served as hosts ta over five hundred boys trorn Rhode lslarid and l t.ttl lassachusetts. With another season closed the cluh looks forward with renewed enthusiasm to a new school year. 29
