Sacred music both new and old was sung by the robed choirs. Palms gently swayed over the Bethlehem scene. For one hallowed hour all was forgotten but the beauty of music and the glory ot the old, old story. For this inspirational production Miss Rose H. Condon was the dramatic coach, and Mr. Robert A. White was the director of singing. 19 'i r . Y L 1 zfmior- enior rom On lonufitry l8, l957, the Iunior-Senior Proni entitled Surry Silhouette wos held in the ttuditoriuni ot Brockton l-liqh School. The teachers employed a secret weapon, Mr. Harry Reuell, and also had Santa Claus and a hula dancer. They rnanaged to lose both contests, however. The Teachers' Band and several faculty cheer leaders accompanied the garnes. Despite the levity and hilarious antics of the performers, there was a serious note to the occasion. The proceeds frorn this fun-packed event were used for a scholarship fund established by the Brockton Teachers' Association, which gives S300 each year to a Brockton High School graduate planning on entering a teaching career. acuhg - lljaraify ame u 1 x ximxxuy I V . W-ix A delightful Parisian theme greeted the guests and members of the class of l957 at the senior prom. Various scenes, such as the Eiffel Tower, Rue de La Paix, and Arc de Triomphe, as well as flower Venders and Parisian markets, were depicted on colorful murals. To add authenticity to the evening in Paris background red checked tablecloths adorned small tables, suggesting a side- walk cafe. This annual formal affair was very gay and colorful and was enjoyed by everyone who attended. 7 endow rom ,Sf ,if AT 'X gmhrf I Nh -g QQ Q1 Y x A ,,, . Our Miss Brooks, the girls' physical instructor, has once more completed a successful year in instructing the popular Girls' Sports Council, which is open to junior and senior girls. The purpose of the council is to instill in participants the ethics and principles of each sport. Girls in the sports council must complete a series of tests and put in a great many hours a year. These girls may be seen officiating at junior high school games, intramural sports, junior high school play day, and the Faculty-Varsity game. Miss Brooks has had a lasting character- building influence on all pupils with whom she has come in contact.
