Tireless efforts are put in by the Dramatic Club. In addition to the Dramatic Club, the musical organizations play a most im- portant part in making the pageant the success it always is. Starlight Blues, the theme of this year's Iunior-Senior Prom, was held in the B.H.S. hall, Ianuary 21. The auditorium, beautifully decorated with glittering stars in a blue background, gave a heavenly impression to everything. Shining notes and G clefs were also part of the decorations, stressing the musical blues in the theme. The prom introduced a beautiful array of colors as seen in the gowns Worn by the girls that night. The Student Council sponsored a dance, the Hoopsters Hop, in honor of our basketball team, the proud possessors of a 17-l record for the season. The students enjoyed an evening of dancing to records played by our own senior disc jockey, David Lessarcl. To commemorate George Washington's birthday, an assembly was presented by the Dramatic Club for all three classes. Tableaux depicting Valentines that might have been exchanged between George Washington and his wife, Martha, were artistically given with accompanying music. While the boys' varsity basketball team was practicing hard and diligently for their games, the girls, too, were participating in intramural basketball. Each class had its own league of teams, which played one another in their respective leagues. Prom these teams, the class basketball squads were selected to play the championship. The senior girls, the champions, concluded their successful season with the Faculty-Varsity game. Throughout the winter months, girls were constantly kept busy with the bad- minton tournament. This tournament consisted of doubles and singles and extended over a long period. Less often mentioned are the boys' foul-shooting, intramural basketball, rope- pulling, and broad jump contests. Although these are not given the prestige of varsity basketball and other major and minor sports, they are very important because they give other boys, not able to participate in varsity sports, the chance to display their skills and talents.
