gfafid .Jgldory Although the history of our class does not include such famous incidents as the Battle of Bunker Hill or the Declaration of Independence, we do take pride in recalling outstanding events. Our class has been no exception in pursuit of sports to which the fine records in football, basketball and baseball bear witness. As seniors we learned the true meaning of perseverance by watching the football team climb, under Coach Saba's able management, from early defeats to a winning team credited with sixteen consecutive wins. When we were juniors, softball and field hockey were again placed on the ever-widening girls' sports program. The senior girls' basket- ball team made history by copping the inter-class championship for three years. A number of changes were effected during our three-year stay. A new develop- ment in the selection of junior ushers was inaugurated last year. All the candi- dates' names were put into a bowl, and at an appointed time the president drew out the lucky ones. A model election took place in which six students were elect- ed to visit the State I-louse and act as senators or representatives for a day. The band finally threw away their pink and grays, and the first football game of the season brought out a bright red and black showing of brand-new uniforms. ln order to lessen confusion in the lunchroom and hasten the purchase of food, tickets are now sold in advance to eliminate the long waiting lines. A new room in the A building, faultlessly redecorated by the students themselves, great- ly facilitated the practical teaching of a retail selling course. Faculty changes were quite numerous during our three years. Mr. Saba became head coach when Mr. Roberts became director of physical education. Mr. F rel- lick was promoted to the position of head master, when Mr. Haskins ac- cepted a position in Westfield, Mass. New additions to our staff are Mr. Errol Stevenson and Mr. William Parsons. Mr. Bates, the head of the language de- partment, retired after many years of faithful service. Education can be most difficult and dull but because of the kind co-operation of the members of the faculty, our three years in high school have proved both beneficial and enjoyable. We wish to thank all of those who helped to make us: Followers today: leaders tomorrow. 17
