D., at precisely 9:11 o'clock, thirteen stealthy creatures emerged from a blue, two door, forty nine Ford in the city of Weather- ford, Texas, U.S.A. On the faces of these characters was a look of grim determination. With the important realization of what this mission meant, they patriotically vowed in their heart to do or die. Each one started for his assigned area with a look of cautious apprehension about him. Grouping off in twos and threes, they silently set about their task. From some unknown source, the police were informed' of these strange acting visitors. With machine guns set and ammunition ready, they prepared for what ever disaster might fall. At exactly 9:36, two of these strangers entered the bank. Telephones began to buzz on every corner to alert all city policemen. Much to everyone's surprise, the suspected ones appeared back at the front door of the bank in less than ten minutes with nothing drastically wrong ---- yet. About the time these three alighted from the bank, two more had been spotted on another corner going into a jewelry store. Again, tenseness prevailed and all were alerted. Exactly fifteen minutes later these two emerged from the jewelry store with a pleased look of satisfaction about them and made their way down the crowded street. On the other side of town, three more of these suspicious looking characters were being followed. This time they entered an oil refining company. Outside, the atomic bomb had been readied for use. Eighteen minutes later the three reappeared much to everyone's relief. This time a little brown bag which they were carrying was spotted. What did it contain? This was certainly a serious situation. By this time, the G Men and President Truman had been contacted. Thus, the city policemen, the G Men, and President Truman combined wits to cope with this hectic plot. After considering, they decided it would be best to call out the Marines and have the Air Force and Navy stand by. Due to the watchful eye of one of the protectors, another group was seen going into a theater. In about eight minutes they came out and continued on their secret mission. A mysterious air and alert tenseness settled over the town. What was taking place? Was this to be the city's doom? But suddenly a cry of good news rang out. The G Men had found a solution. At 4127 they would seize the mysterious characters and reveal their scheme. Everyone waited. Time passed slowly. ----- Tick ---- tock ---- tick ---- tock. At 3:15 the characters assembled back where they had met. At 3117 the blue, two door, forty nine Ford pulled up to the curb and all thirteen entered as silently as they had descended. At 3:19 the forty nine Ford pulled away with the stealthy characters and headed west, leaving the President, the police, the G Men, the Marines and the Navy in surprised astonishment. Just then an announce- ment carne forth from K.O.R.C., and I quote- The Annual Staff of Brock High School appreciated the Weatherford business men's kindness and help in their soliciting of ads for the 1952 Annual.
