VVe have tried to incorporate into this book the friendly, familiar atmosphere of the Family Album, and for the propagation ofthis idea what group could he more admirably fitted, than the BROADWAY student body united in a common interest, and joined by intimate bonds of comradeship ?VVe have attempted to link 19-LO with 1904, the year in which the first SEALTH appeared. Well, therels a lot more bacleboner than there were thirty-six years ago . . . almost thirty percent more. And several new departments and a dozen or so new courses! A dozen? There,s all kinds of mechanical and manual work offered in addition to the academic subjects. And lettering . . . cartooning . . . costume designing . . . and Mother, they even teach the boys how lo cook! The hoys! VVhy, they didn't even teach the girls when I went to school. You certainly have a lot of grand teachers . . . Gee whiskers, Mom, the bert in the city! Speaking of whiskers . . . I don't seem to see any handle-bar mustaches on the 'Profsl . . . Dad, those went out with the mustach cups. And just think, Harry, theyr'e having some of the very same teachers we had when we went to the old SEATTLE HIGH ScHoo1 ,... USEATTLE H101-1 . . . where was that, Mother? Why, daughter, that was what they used to call BROADWAY . . . WVell, what do you know . . .
