Sometime in the 1800’s In the hills of Colorado an old prospector plucked from 8i stream an abandoned baby girl in a basket. He cared for her and she grew up to be a tomboy who married a mm who was also a prospector. They discovered a silver mins that proved to be one of the richest mother lodes of silver aver found in the West. Being very „ wealthy, the couple decided to leave their mountain cabin and invade the society of Denver. . . 4

Sometime in the early 1950’s a new high school was built in Broadway, Virginia. Through the years the school acquired a two-fold reputation, one as a fearsome opponent in sports, especially football and basketball. There were championships won in these sports as well as in others, “mother lodes’’of a sort. The other part of Broadway’s reputation went something to the effect of “those farmers from Broadway.’’
