LANGUAGES Mrs. Phoebe Orebaugh Mr. Kyger ' s Spanish class initiates the language lab. With the aid of a new language lab, the French and Spanish teachers attempt to teach their students the art of speaking foreign languages. This is the first year for Spanish so there is only one class. French students find the lab is more difficult than the faithful old ' tape recorder. The Latin students are faced with translating Julius Caesar and the Gallic Wars. Mrs. Orebaugh, assisted by the language lab, drills Richard Brown, Dennis Turner, and Wylie Walton. MATHEMATICS Mathematics is a group of sciences dealing with quantities, sizes, forms, and their relationships by the use of numbers and symbols. The branches of mathematics are some of the most fascinating subjects in our school. Students begin their mathe¬ matical studies with either General Math or Algebra I. As they progress, they take Geometry. Next comes Algebra II and Trig¬ onometry combined. Some seniors end their years at Broadway High School with a semester of Trigonometry and a semester of analysis. Mr. Paul G. Kline, retiring this year after 42 years of teaching, drills his Algebra class. Mr. Cecil Hartman Mr. Joseph Jones Mr. Paul G. AGRICULTURE Michael Coakley receives his National Rifle Association Safe Hunter Award Vocational Agriculture provides opportunity for training and experience in activities which lead into the broad field of Ag¬ riculture Industry. This includes industries and businesses pro¬ viding materials and services in the production, processing, and marketing of agriculture products. It also includes necessary training in vocations not directly related to farming, such as wildlife management, turf manage¬ ment, ornamental horticulture, forestry and park management, and also the care of animals for recreation and pleasure.
