tk Ha ) In the summer of 1959, a new wing to Broadway High School was constructed at the west end of the building. This addition was necessary in order to accom¬ modate an ever-increasing enrollment which is now 925 and is predicted to reach 1,000 by 1962. These eight rooms house a general music room, two general science laboratories, two physical education rooms, and three general purpose rooms. The style of the rooms is the same as that of the main building hut improvements in building ma¬ terials have added to the modernity of this section. The ceramic tile used in finish¬ ing the rooms is a feature that is unique in maintenance. Because of crowded con¬ ditions at Broadway Elementary School, 105 seventh graders are occupying the three general purpose rooms until additional provisions are made by the elementary building program of the county. Provision is made to add a second story to the new section of our building if and when enrollment demands it. These new rooms are providing greater opportunities for our faculty to inter¬ est and challenge the minds of our students. 20
