IU ICR HIGH GRADUATIO 5.1 S Junior High graduation was held on Tuesday, May 27 in the church auditorium. Mr. Fred Zinkgraf, a former Broadway coach, was the guest speaker. EIGHTH GRADE TRIP On May 8th and 9th the eighth graders passed some memorable days in New Braunfels. Mrs. Besser, Mrs. Leitch, Mrs. Ruffner, and Coaches Stanfield and Carter spon- sored the group as they stayed at the Landau Resort. Highlights of the trip included a day at the Schlitterbahn water slide and a raft trip down the Guadalupe River. All of the students interviewed after the trip gave a glowing report and indicated that it was an excellent way to end their years in junior high. 36

SEN ICR TRIP On May 14 eighteen seniors, Mrs. Moffett, and Mrs. Gebhardt left Houston for Cozumel, Mexico for four days of sun, fun, and together- ness. The plane left at 7:15 on Wednesday and arrived at 9:00 Cozumel time. The first night was spent unpacking, swimming, or exploring the hotel. Everyone was up bright and early the next morning, discovering the day was theirs to do as they pleased, and it was spent in a variety of ways: snorkeling around the coral reefs, shopping and eating in town, and attempting to get a tan. On Friday the seniors took a boat ride to the other side of the island: while on the excursion they were given a chance to try some deep sea snorkeling. When they returned to the hotel, they were free for the evening to shop, swim, or sleep. The next morning the seniors were ready to leave, tired but happy to have had the opportunity to be together. They had a great time enjoying the sun, the beach, and the beautiful blue water.
