The above statement explains the mission of Broadview Academy. Here in this school can be found the opportunity for Illinois S. D. It is a barrier against the over- whelming tide of evil that Satan has turned loose upon the world. While in at- tendance here, hundreds of young people have caught a vision of service and have conse- cecrated their lives to the Lord. Their record of hardship, faith, love, and achievement is one of which the Academy in justly proud. Every youth of academy age in Illinois should be enrolled at Broadview Academy. This is the Lord's plan. Let us as members of the Board, faculty, and constituency, unite our efforts to save our youth, let us channel their vigor and consecration into the furrow of the world's great need. Let us place the youth of Illinois in a haven of refuge-Broad View Academy. Lee Taylor PRINCIPAL flr. The efficiency with which this office hums is reflected in the person of Mrs. Hallock who supervises the helpers and acts as accountant. VVhether we are securing a class permit, calling for mail, or receiving our monthly statement, we can note with pride that our requests are handled with pleasant efficiency, a quality we all seek to emulate. Willard Wentland Bible, History, Pastor Through the pages of Ancient, Bible, and World His- tory, the men who lived in other days pass in review. Here our minds are taught to learn by the experiences of others who walked the way before us. Here our problems and those of the social world are presented - and God,s solutions are applied. This time spent in gaining a loving trust in the Au- thor of the Bible is the best preparation for Eternity. In our Bible classes, we apply ourselves wholly to the scriptures and the scriptures Wholly to ourselves. Here We fulfill the purpose of a Christian educationg for it has been said and truly so, that Education is more the development of power than the mere accumula- tion of facts. TIME-that rare intangible thing we never have enough of, that despotic ruler of our lives and gov- ernor of our days, the thing all men seek and can nev- er find, the stuff that life is made of, our link with the past and with the fuiureg the thief who steals our youihg the measure of our lives which moves relent- lessly on, taking with it all but the memories of the days that have gone before . . . There have been good times, bad times, interesting times, dull times, inspirational times, and times of des- pair. If we were to live again the days of our year, all these and other times would come to our recollec- tion. There were mountain peak experiences in 1951. There were times of resolution and deliberation. There were fierce struggles with conscience, there were heart-breaking Gethsemanesg and yet . . . A time will come when our minds turn again to the Broadview of '51 . . . to the pleasureful re- membrances of that year . . . Gone will be the questions, the doubts, the faint dissatisfactionsg and in their places will loom the cherished memories of the years and pride in our alma mater. Our thoughts will be of the Weeks of Prayer, of friends and teach- ers, of classes attended and lessons learned, of cam- paigns, of programs, of skating and picnics, of study periods and prayer bands. We will close our eyes and memory's magic will bring music to our ears-songs of consecration and dedication sung by determined young people . . . In the midst of the busy hustle of our school days, the Student Advance Movement and Students Council found time to meet to plan for the students' activities and campaigns which set before us ever-widening horizons. With boundless energy, we rose as one stu- dent body to meet and conquer the tasks before us. Not only was our ENCORE-EXPO- NENT Campaign successful, but others such as the Organ Campaign stand as proof of the value of ambitious and industrious students. Vduna Officers: Row 1, F. Johnson, J. Paulson Time to play- to forget the everyday rou- tine for a while and put heart and body into a brisk game of basketball or baseball. In this Way, We not only improve intellect but body as wellg and how we cherish the memories of those intramural contests . . . the happy and carefree times spent in friendly rivalry for class supremacy. In addition to sponsoring recreation of the athletic nature, the Nduna Club plans parties and programs to flavor school routine with the spice of variety. The planning of these functions challenges the in- itiative and originality of the residents of Elm Hall, and it is under such conditions that we best learn to practice the rules of co-operation and good sportsmanship as we work together with our club officers.
