On Friday 13, 1964, at Broadmoor Stadium the football Homecoming Queen and Court, escorted by their fathers, were presented to the student body and alumni. The fighting But cancers played against the Bogalusa Lumberjacks. Nominated by members of the various football squads, the members of the court were elected by vote of students from their respective grades. Queen Susan was chosen by popular vote of the student body. Following the game, the court was presented once again, this time with their dates, at the traditional Student Council sponsored Homecoming Dance in the school gymnasium. Music was provided by Phil Ward presents Queen Susan with the traditional bouquet as 1963 Queen Hollis Lindsey and Mr. Stafford watch.

During the month of August, Broadmoor was represented at the Pelican Girls' and Boys' State at L. S. U. The main objective of the two nine day sessions was to teach the students to be responsible citizens. It was the aim of each party to have its candidates elected to state offices. The following represented us: Susan Heatherly - Miss Mississippi City; Sue Pethtel - Miss South Carolina City; Dave Morgan - Mayor of South Carolina City and Secretary of State; Mike Gough - Chief of Police of Mississippi City. Ten students were selected by the faculty to do concentrated studies at die annual Leadership Conference held during June at L. S. U. They represented the departments of: Yearbook and Newspaper publications, Library Science, Physical Education Activities, and Speech Activities.
