Buccaneer Log 1962 Broadmoor Junior-Senior High School Baton Rouge, Louisiana Our World Broadmoor 3 From It Comes . . . 5 East is east; west is west -And here the twain shall meet. Scholars A diller, a dollar, a ten o'clock scholar. What makes you come so soon? You used to come at ten o'clock And now you come at noon. And then the baby bear said: Here goes another two pointer. Terrible tryouts and training After-school practice sessions The game on your shoulders and everyone screaming Then there you are, a hero -The letter jacket and your name in the paper! It's worth the sore muscles, isn't it? 8 No. I better not tell that one. 10 And who are you voting for? And Artists And the 1962 Buccaneer Log. Be the labor great or small, Mr. Mac, you have done your job, getting Broadmoor off to a wonderful start, extremely well. It has taken two years, but in order to have the kind of school we wanted, we had to make haste slowly. Thank you for giving Broadmoor such an auspicious beginning. 16 Do it well or not at all. MR. Council Art Club Many of the great strides which the Broadmoor High art department has taken toward more and better art can be directly traced to the functions of this fine club. In the parish-wide Halloween window painting contest, in which many of our members participated, we won two excellent and two superior ratings. For the second year in a row a Broadmoor art club member has won the Jr. High Parish Fire Prevention Poster Contest. This year the judge stopper was Stephanie Torres. Annual Christmas Assembly And The Band Played On . . . During the month of December, the home rooms collected money to purchase presents for the needy children of the parish. On December 20, an assembly was held, at which time the students presented the presents. In addition, the concert band and chorus presented a beautiful musical Christmas program. Ronald Gurley then officially gave the presents to Mr. Chevalier, representative from the Volunteers of America. After the assembly all felt assured that the genuine Christmas spirit comes from giving rather than from receiving. O Come, All Ye Faithful The Young at Heart See How We Love You Two . . .
