in common courtesy, need, plans. In these trying times of world unrest and sputniks, you the graduating class of 1958 will be faced with momentous decisions. It is our hope that you have learned to reason and to discriminate between the true and the false. Conflicting ideologies and be- liefs, and mounting pressureswill make it essential that you weigh these decisions carefully in the light of all known facets and that you behave like the intelligent citizens I know you to be, It has been a pleasure to have worked with many of you, and to have watched most of you grow and mature. . . not only phys- ically, but intellectually, in a manner that leaves me assured there is little to fear that our way of life and our freedom will be maintained.
