Wm' ln the fall of 1948 we entered high school with big plans. It seemed to us that we had completed so much, and yet, now we realize that it was only the first step up the ladder to success. We were under the supervision of Miss Violet Lockyer and elected the following of- ficers: President ------ ----- Mi chael Opalka Vice President ---------- ---- M arlene King Secretary and Treasurer ---- ------ -Ra e Brown Reporter ---------------- ----- D ouglas Pelotte Student Council -------- --- Robert Donaldson Beth Jones During our Freshmen year we were not allowed to carry out any money - making pro jects. Our only income was the monthly dues which we paid. On September 21, 1949 we held our first meeting as Sophomores. Miss Iona C loutier became our advisor and has guided us ever since. As class officers we elected: Robert Donaldson, Presldentg Ruth Mac Vean, Vice Presidentg Gilbert Danneuberg, Secretaryg John English, Treasurer: and William Porter, Reporter. To represent us in the Student Council we chose Donald Butkus and Sheila Taggart. We agreed to pay 25 cents dues per month, Ouronly activity was to sell book - covers. Then on September 3, 1950 we resumed school as Juniors, We held a classmeeting on September 8 and elected officers. Upon totaling the ballots we discovered these re- sults: - President ------- ------- Be th Jones Vice President ---- ---- Ge raldine Small Secretary ------- ---- -Ma rlene King Treasurer ----- ---- S heila Taggart Reporter -------- ----- R uth Mac Vean Student Council --- ------ Rae Brown William Beyer During our Junior year we sold stationery, book - covers, and cone - hangers. We also held food sales, occasionally and sponsored a dance, lnOctober we purchased our class rings. Our treasury still looked rather empty, however, so we entered our Senior year with one big problem, -- finances. We realized we were confronted with a busy year which has certainly proved to be true. The play, the yearbook, food sales, movies , the sale ot cone - hangers and stationery, and selling refreshments at the basketball games occupied all our time. Every little bit helped to raise our funds, but the mount- ing expenses seemed to take a good share of them, Our Senior class officers, President, William Beyer: Vice President, Jim Crannellg Secretary, Beth Jones: and Treasurer, Barry Chaseg capably spurred us on. Now as we complete our years in BHS we hope that we are leaving the favorable im- pression which we have tried so hard to maintain. We have enjoyed working together and as we say farewell, we say it with regret, for we know that life will never be more pleasing than our years in BHS.
