CLASS HISTORY In September l94l our class entered a new world Chxgh schooll awkward terr1 hed and green We always seemed to be tn the way of the upper classmen and noth1ng we drd was proper Our f1rst horror whrch appears annual ly to all freshmen classes was 1n1t1at1on We were stage struck at IITSI but we soon overcame thfs wh1le accomphshmg our mlraculous feats Numerous rules were pubhshed by the Sen1ors and we had to obey them or suffer the consequences Our f1rst entertamment was a mov1e Mov1e Crazy and 1t proved to be very successful We also sold Iello dur1ng our Freshman year and sponsored a slelgh rtde to mcrease our New York fund Mtke Sh1vka Blll Cunnmgham Marma Petoff and Tom Swan were our class offrcers Mr Chous and Mtss Elwood our adv1sors We entered our Sophomore year wrth b1g 1deas We st1ll thought that studylng ln hrgh school was easy but we soon changed our mmds when 1t came to geometry and Caesar Nevertheless hav mg departed from the ranks of green Freshmen and advanced to those of wlse Sophomores we tackled the hard tasks ahead In order to burld up our treasury ac count we Sophomores got busy and sold notebook paper and stat1onery We also presented another successful movre I-hlda Eaton Mar1na Petoff Evelyn Voorhees and Marllyn Klsslnger managed our af fa1rs for the year We really began to feel very grown up tth1s may not have been nottceable to the faculty? when we entered our Iumor year As the t1me was growlng nearer for our New York tmp and Commencement we dec1ded that we must xncrease our funds cons1derably at once Thus for the f1rst t1me 1n our l1ves we were lnduced to dxg ln and work hard' We sold statronery and more statroneryl We sponsored a dance And we presented another one of our an nual movles In May f e v ere overlay ed to recetve our Senror r1ngs' At last we felt we had reached the peak Our offrcers for the year were Tom Swan Btll Cunn1ngham Ienme Naclwockt and I-lllda Eaton What' Was thts a dream or were we really Sen1ors ' It dldnt seem posslble that our four years of work fn hlgh school were almost completed' Our f1rst duty and may I add great pleasure was to 1n1 tlate the Freshmen We forgot that three years ago we were ID therr same em bctrrassmg pos1t1on and made them do .hard and embarrasslng feats Early IU November we presented the play Nlght of Ianuary l6th We had to work but 1t was a great success We our selves were astonlshed to flnd such dra matfc talent among our classmates The rest of the year was spent ln per form1ng tradrtronal Sentor dunes The se lectmg of sweaters proved to be a greater task than we had surmxsed Due to war productron we had no cholce but to take what was offered us aud1tor1um more or less completes our act1v1ty fund drrve As thls artlcle goes to press rt rs not dec1ded yet whether the Sen1ors may go to New York We all have our fmgers crossed Affalrs were compe tently managed th1s year by Guy PISIIIII Htlda Eaton Evelyn Voorhees and Anne Ward When we all started as lowly Freshmen there were about thlrty seven members 1n the class Now the membershtp has dwln dled to twenty frve Let us especlally re member those who have left us for the Armed Forces Roger Dake CNavyl Roger Eaton fNavyl and George Noonan fMer chant Marlnesl Now a hard and tedlous struggle l1es ahead of us but we all feel that w1th a llttle ambrtton and the assxstance of the faculty we w1ll graduate wrth honors Success to all our classmates I-IILDA EATON THOMAS SWAN MARILYN KISSINGER WILLIAM CUNNINGHAM - Sponsoring weekly movies in the B.H.S. 971 THE KLNNYIETTO KRONICLE
