STORY Into a medium sited town came Marie Stafford to open 1 school of elocution piano and voice She boarded with the OBrien family Mike OBrien 1 gentle Irishman his wife Maggie a scold mg and bossy yet kind hearted Irish woman and their son George, and daughter Margaret B cause Marie was reticent about her former life Mrs Conway a rather go ipy towns woman became very curious Her su plclon ained momentum one day when her son went to Maries studio to take his pmno lesson and found an unsealed letter which his mother believed confirmed her suspicions Mrs Conway spread the news and Miss Stafford began to lose her pupils She appealed t Father Nolan a young priest who had been in the parish for 1 year and who was loved by all fox his gentleness and kindness He told Marie about the letter Mrs Conways son had found and Marie told him the moving and dramatic story of her life She had married a man who had humbled and abused her and after having been a loyal dexoted wife but still unable to make her husband see the light she had finally left him and had come to this town to earn her own living under her former professional stage name During this scen a violent thunder and lightning storm began to rage outside and through the window came James Nolan a derelict He was Maries husband and had traced her to this place He also turned out to be the ne er do well brother of Father Nolan who had run away from home in his youth In a very dramatic scene where James wa defying all beliefs he Nas struck by 'ivhtnlng and his sight was destroyed Before James death the followin morning he asked 'Vlaries forgiveness and through the kind efforts of Father Nolan and her he was able to see the Light Eternal even though he was blind Much humor was provided by Mike and Mag ie and a great deal of nterest was aroused by the romantic Danny and Margaret and of course George fell deeply in love with Marie but felt that he had no right to mention this feeling to her as long as her husband lived Each member of the cast contributed toward an excellent performance wh ch was one of the best presentations ever staged in Broadalbin Hlgl' School CLASS B ALLUT Done Done Best Best Most Best Best Most for B H S Most for 1936 Natured Looking Popular Dancer Actor Noisxest Quietest ' e r 1 Z- - . - .H .
