S -32 622 Q Finger-snapping hood, john Eaglesfield, bemoans his jobless condition at the corner drug store. jBetter than a Dream' lt's Better Than a Dream, thought Ripple's Golden Singers about their successful presentation of the musical, Bells are Ringing, November l5 and l6, Written by Betty Comden, Adolph Green, and jule Styne, Bells centers around the predicaments a switchboard operator creates by her tendency to be- come involved in the personal lives of her subscribers. Marilyn Kolesar played Ella Peterson, the overly- helpful operator at Susanswerphone, the answering service owned by cousin Sue, portrayed by Margie Kingdon, Concealing her identity, Ella falls in love with jeff Moss, p'ayed by Milford Robinson, as she helps him write a successful play. At the same time, Fred Stark, as Sandor Prantz, convinces Sue that Susanswerphone should merge with his company, Titanic Records, really a front for a bookie system. ln the end, Inspector Barnes, john Bowers, closes in on the bookies and Ella and jeff are united. Mrs. Rosalee Hofmann and Mr, Gene Poston served as co-directors, assisted by Mrs. janet Blocker. Mr. Paul Brown headed the sound crew, and Mr. Ferd Brumblay and Mr. Charles Reeder supervised the designing and construction of scenery. Activity in the orchestra pit reaches a climax as Mr. Gene Poston directs orchestra and stage action
