Courses from general mathematics to Calculus and from physical science to physics complete Ripple's scientific curri- culum. Five years of science offerings provide Ripplites an Opportunity to study their specific interest in this varied field. Physical science students gain a general knowledge of our earth vvhile beginning and advanced biologists, pupils of the science of life, examine first plants-from bacteria to seed plants, then animals-from the simple amoeba to the complex mammal, and finally the mysteries of human life. Chemistry pupils analyze matter and the changes in identity which it undergoes, while future physicists learn the basic laws under which nature operates. Mathematics, the language of science, provides a basis for measurement, calculations, and quantita- tive study of science. ln addition to general mathe- matics and the required courses in algebra and geo- metry, Ripple's Math Department includes advanced courses such as Trigonometry, Solid Cieometry, Ana- lytical Geometry, College Algebra, and Calculus. Operating a visual aid to understanding the binary number system, Susan Negley and lane Everly learn fundamentals of algebra.
