An understanding of geography and its effect on man and civilization helps us to realize the problems of our own and other nations. In ROTC we develop the qualities of leadership and the spirit of cooperation that will benefit us all through life. In 1954, for the seventh consecutive year, our ROTC unit earned an honor rating. In our studies of French, German, and Spanish we can better understand other peoples of the world as we study the grammar and vocabulary of their languages. To train for careers in modern business, more than half of our students are enrolled in commercial subjects. In our Reading Laboratory, last yearis senior experi- mental group increased its reading speed more than 56 per cent. Our Driver Education course certainly shows results. Because the accident rate for students thus trained is so low, insurance companies offer them a discount up to 15 per cent on automobile insurance. f,.
