The award was made to the high school as one of the few high schools in the United States judged out- standing tor its efforts to perpetuate the American way of life. The award includes a Freedoms Foundation film library for the high school and a pilgrimage for a teacher and a student to Valley Forge, Pa., and other national shrines. Materials submitted to the Freedoms Foundation awards jury were: the student council's scrapbook covering the 50th anniversary celebration, sponsored by Mrs. Kate B. Corey and the student councilg Mrs. Neva Gurley's course of study for homeroomsg and Mrs. Lola B. Covey's course of study in American History based on the concepts of democracy and speeches made by Mrs. Covey and Mrs. Mildred Ni- chols to the state association of college professors of history in which they explained Bristow High School's teaching of democracy in American History and Liter- ature.

DEDICATIO XVe, the Log staff of 1095, respect- fully dedicate this hook to Mr. Clyde Qhfosel Leforce teziclier, coach and friend. Mose. as he is affectionately known by students and faculty, will complete his 55rd year in the teach- ing field this spring, Thirty years were spent in the coaching ranks. He coached Bristow High School ath- letic teams for 25 years hefore his retirement from active coaching in 1951. During his coaching career, he compiled outstanding records, I-lis overall won and lost mark for 50 years of gridiron competition shows a sensational 208 xictories against only 8' losses and six ties, It is with love and admiration that we dedicate this volume to Mr. Leforce, realizing that it is hut an humble effort to show our appreci- ation for his many years of service to our school and community.
