The Bristow High School Student Council, under the direction of Mrs. Kate B. Corey, proved active throughout the year. True to its traditional high standards the Council began the year with the sale of the sophomores as slaves to the seniors. Slave Week ended with a dance and the annual crowning of the Slave King and Queen. The next big event the Council undertook was the first leadership conference in BHS. The conference consisted of all Student Council members, and lead- ers of the various organizations and was held to help the organizations in all their undertakings dur- ing the year. Later during the first semester the Council sent four students to l7.O.H.S.S.C. Convention at Duncan and one representative to the Southern Association of Student Councils in jackson, Mississippi. The second-semester Council sponsored various 48 15' 2 J M l DoNNA HADDOX L 5'ecr'cI.1r-1 JANIE COIL Tfefrrurer other projects. Among these were Career Day, Col- lege Night and the All-School Play. The outstanding accomplishment of the 1954-55 Student Council was the installation of a speaking system in the junior High School Auditorium, which had been a project of both the Student Council and the Senior Class of 1954. A picnic held in the spring concluded a success- ful term for the Student Council of 1954-1955. Q STUDENT ASSQCIATION If x fo. It FIRST SEMESTER PRESIDENTS CABINET Seated, left to right: jim Maxwell.
