'H-I 1... 4.-1' BUS DRIVERS I gh gh! J M M C yd MR. JOHNSON WRIGHT Head Cusi d' The Bristow School District was organized prior to Statehood. At the present time it con- sists of both white and negro schools with a faculty of sixty-four members-fifty-three in the white schools and eleven in the negro schools. The Bristow School District comprises an area of approximately 115 square miles while its transportation system of seven buses covers an area of 150 square miles. Approximately 2572, of the 1700 pupils enrolled are transported. The net valuation of the district for the cur- rent year is S3 995 013. At the present time there is no bonded indebtedness against the district. The physical properties consist of the high school 10th 11th and 12th grades' the junior LETHA WILLIAMS THOMAS HAMILTON todo C st d high school 7th 8th and 9th grades' and two elementary schools all accredited by the North Central Association of Secondary Schools and Colleges. In addition there is a building housing the music departments and the vocational agri- culture program. Also a fine gymnasium, foot- ball field and baseball field are included in the physical properties. The operating budget for the school year 1951-52 was S231000. In the way of improve- ments a new addition has just been made to the Edison Grade School and the Board of Educa- tion is in the process of remodeling all the build- ings. Plans are also in the making for a new shop building to be constructed in the very nea- future. -2-
