It was only twelve years ago that we all started on the long road to graduation. Remember the first grade when the little girls chased the boys around the school building or marched around it, chanting, 'We don't stopg we don't stopv? Do you also remember when only in the seventh grade we were put in the high school building with the ngreat big seniorsn? The disappointment of being Hdemotedn to the junior high building in the eighth grade was more than made up for when we, as freshmin, became Wthe big shots.W We certainly en- joyed doing as we wished...but...later, we Wserved our termn in detention hall. Wasn't it during our freshman year that we were without any basisl for the Youth Center? may seem, when we were all sorts of things from with tooth brushes to do- blamed Qof course, all the trouble at Strange as it sophomores we did washing the street ing the 'can-can' down Main Street. Truly, we were not responsible for this, for we were slaves to the seniors. In spite of all this, we enjoyed it and the dance which brought the slave week to a grand finale. As juniors, night and day, we thought of 'Your Career,' which was the theme of the junior-senior banquet. After the banquet there was that traditional slumber party which was a happy night of activities. We loved this year's banquet, given us by the juniorsg but we surely missed the boys who joined the air force. Was it just a rumor that several boys were eager to join just to avoid writing those 'horriblenq re- search themes? The senior trip was Wloads' of fun and also a problem in finance. L95 it not be said that the Senior Class of 1951 neglected the water tower. What matter the paint-smearing hangovers, injuries, paint- spattered shoes, and concerns about jail sentences? Thus, after twelve such years on this long road, we find ourselves graduated, and, as we go forth to meet or make our destiny, we view, with both joy and regret, this -41nn+nnn ln Ann naman! The Pep Club then held cake sales in down-town areas. In football season the Pep Club decorated the goal posts for the football games and also the Youth Center for the dances after the games. During the basketball and wrestling season the Pep Club took over the concession stand in the gym, using the money from these sales to pay for the sweaters purchased by the school. Other sweaters were paid for by individual members of the Pep Club. The Pep Club was especially honored when the cheerleaders received an invitation to the Athletic Banquet in April and when the Football, Basketball, and Wrestling Queens were chosen from among its members. With their loyal attendance and loud cheering, the Pep Club girls kept the boys' spirits up during the football, basket- ball, and wrestling seasons.
