CREED We are the Future Homemakers of America We face the future with warm courage, And high hope. For we have the clear consciousness of seeking Old and precious values. For we are the builders of homes, Homes for America's future. Homes where living will be the expression of everything That is good and fair. Homes where truth and love and security and faith Will be realities, not dreams. We are the Future Homemakers of America We face the future with warm courage And high hope The Bristow F.H.A. Chapter was organized by the help of North Warren Chapter. At our first meeting, October 21, 1948, we elected officers with formal initiation. President-Anne Davisg Vice Pres- ident-Thelma Hendricks: Secretary-Kathryn Penningtong Treasurer-Lou Ola Stahlg Historian-Carolyn Lyles: Reporter-Erlene Hayesg Parliamentarian-Clara Atchley: and Song Leader-Marie Wallace. At our first meeting we had 21 members. But at Christmas one of our members moved, Betty .To Higdon, and in January we gained one new member, .Toan McBroom. Our colors are red and white, the flower of our or- ganization is the red rose. The motto is Toward New Horizon. The emblem is a house supported by two hands with sunrays extending out from the home. I We have set before us three goals: ill personal im- provementg Q21 promotion of recreationg and Q31 devel- opment of international relationship. We have completed all of these goals, and we are now working on our degrees of recognition. To receive a degree each girl has special qualifications to fulfull. The highest honor achieved is to be an Honor Ro1l chapter, who's temperature is 212 degrees F. For each accomplishment our temperature rises a certain number of degrees. We now stand 107 degrees F, We are working toward an Honor Rol1 chapter and hope to reach it before the school term ends.
