Mr. Perry I shall always remember the Class of 1957 because of its notice- able sense of responsibility. From the ofiicers down through to the rank and file, there is exhibited an unusual spirit. This spirit seems to combine a maturity of attitude with a real concern for the welfare of the school. Such traits are not commonly found, even in senior classes, and are most welcome, you may be sure. Yours was one of the first classes to feel the competition for college entrance, because of the large numbers of seniors wishing to further their education. In your senior year, BHS received the first onslaught of the World War II babies, and you had to put up with crowded conditions in classes, corridors, and lunchrooms. At the same time, you were disturbed over the international tensions that were building up. Your imprint upon the school, however, was one of cooperation and friendliness. It is for these, and for your depend- ability and feeling of concern, that you will be remembered with affection. Mr. Roseen Your entire period of schooling, up to now, has paralleled a period of world conflict and unrest. The challenge to your generation is greater now than at any time in history. Having worked closely with you these past four years, I am sure you will be equal to this challenge. My very best wishes for the future. Mr. Marsh You are graduating in an era when our activities must be limited in behalf of peace without attenuating the intrinsic social values for which succeeding generations of mankind have struggled. These contemporary social problems are pressing and their solution will require a positive attitude of civic responsibility. Your future will be determined by the manner in which youmake manifest your attitude toward your civic responsibilities. Ours is the strongest government of the world. Its strength rests on the good will of an instructed people who place their trust in God. Members of the Class of 1957, this is your heritage with which you face the future. Congratulations and good wishes. 7
