JUNIOR PROM 1 1.53 f J wk d tv nh CLASS OFFICERS JOSEPH ROY President JACK DRISCOLL EDWARD GASKI Vice Presidents HAZEL SANTANIELLO Secretary SALLY GAY Treasu rer JUNIOR CLASS HISTORY Freshman Greenies is the typical name given to pupils lust entering high school but we felt far from Greenies that September in T949 The thang that delighted us most was the fact that we were the sole occupants of the building There was no need to worry about being ordered and teased by upper classmen Our social whirl started with a bang at the Mem orable Freshman Frolic It felt good to have the Tech boys our fellow freshmen lonning in the fun We ventured into political affairs when we started our campaigns for class officers Edward Scratch Gaski took first place as class president and was given a staff of reliable officers Robert Armitage and Joseph Roy vice presidents Louise Frechette secretary Jack Driscoll treasurer Their good work was appreciated by the class The Freshman basketball team racked up victory after victory which delighted us no end Hoping for the best we started our second year of high school Much to our dismay we had quite a time trymg to find the various rooms would we ever learn? The commg elections made us forget for a while the teasers laughter. We were too busy deciding who would do the best job as class officers. The chosen favorites were Eugene Zahnke president' George LHeureux vice-president- Frances Vasalo- vage secretary' and Norman Beland treasurer. When it came time to select cheerleaders and malorettes we were happy to have several of our classmates chosen for malorettes Joyce Green Janet Daniels Audrey Tomcheskl for cheerleaders Janet Bird and Pat Onofrio As for sports Scratch Gaski Harry Peters and Claude Fortler played on our great B H S basketball team Not all was work during the second year Our Sophomore Hop highlighted by Al DeCaros band was a huge success Accustomed by now to dear old B H S we were happy and eager to start our Junior year Before we realized it Junior elections were un der way Always a favorite Joe Roy was chosen class president aided by Jack Driscoll and Scratch Gaski as vice presidents Hazel Santamello as secre tary and Sally Gay as treasurer Many of our Junior Classmates were added to the list of the school s organizations Ronnie Chom :ere and Gene Zahnke basketball Nadya Glowa cheerleader Maureen McMahon Peg OBrien and Goal Castonguay magorettes With the coming of cold crisp weather we all dressed up in blue leans and shirts to attend the Junior Barn Dance a gay and festive occasion Then in February came our Junior Prom one of the best if not the best in the history of Bristol High School. As we near our final year at old B. H. S. we all hope that it will hold as many pleasant memories as have our other years.
