Wfcbtafzq One day while playing records I came across my album of my Bristol High School Days. As I listened to Down Memory Lane my thoughts turned dreamily to our good old school days at B. H. S. and our class of 54 . In the mood l'm Sitting on Top of the World we 42 members started our Freshmen year. The Seniors didn't have the annual initiation program, but we were treated with a roller skating party which we returned in the spring. Lis- tening to the Mexican Hat Dance reminds me of our Chili Supper to raise money for a new stage curtain. We also sponsored a Cake Raffle. Our of- ficers, Catherine Derby, President, Earl Paulson, Secretary, and Max God- shalk, Treasurer, should be given credit for a most successful year. In 5l-52 forty-two sophomores were led by President, Arnold Wilhelm- son, Vice President, Fred Bloom, Secretary, Barbara Conover, and Treasurer, Clare Trout. When we were through selling Sl629.00 worth of magazine sub- scriptions, We're in the Money rang through the halls of B. H. S. With the help of Mr. Yoder and Miss Van Harlington, we selected Navy blue and gold for our sophomore sweaters and class colors. In the spring, we gave a bar-be-cue supper to help buy a stage curtain. In September of 5Z-53 thirty-five Juniors came back to The Little Red School House . To the theme There's no business like show business we produced a talent show with traditional King and Queen. Our officers were President, Fred Bloom, Vice President, Gerald Long, Secretary, Carol Clarke, and Treasurer, Barbara Conover. In early January we received our class rings which we had ordered in the fall. The dramatic elements of our class blossomed in the spring in Don't Take My Penny , our dramatic production. On the night of the Blue Moon , we gave our prom at the Hotel Elkhart, ending our successful activities for the year, which were directed by Mrs. Stark and Mrs. Whiteman, our sponsors. With a Song in Our Hearts we came back as Seniors choosing Fred Bloom, President, Catherine Derby, Vice President, Ronnie Teall, Secretary, and Barbara Conover, Treasurer. With the air of Keep lt Gay we began our many activities by chartering a bus to the Indiana State Fair. We had our pictures taken by Sutula Studio . We were singing I Love You a Bushel and a Peck as we picked apples in the Bristol Orchards. Although we hadn't been initiated, we initiated the Freshmen on October 1. We gave our regards to Broadway as the finalcurtain came down on Sev- enteen is Terrific , which Mrs. Cripe and Mr. Thompson, our sponsors di- rected. After Sitting in the Sun Counting our Money we embarked in May on our class trip. On May21, 1954, we seniors put on our caps and gowns and bravely marched to Pomp and Circumstance for that most coveted of all-our di- ploma. 16
