(left to right) Mr. Fred Ferris, Miss Ida Sousa, Mrs. C. Tappero, Mr. Fitzgerald, Mr. Joseph Sousa, Mr. Joseph Kinder, Mrs C. Thomas Campagna, Mr. Ralph A. Martin (not available for picture) To the Class of 1970 “An honest man is the noblest work of God.” —A. Pope— A teacher today has but to listen to the voices of students to discover an interesting antinomy. Young people today are in an earnest quest for identity and at the same time, they sense a strong need for community or togetherness. If your search for yourself and for usefulness to others is to be a real contribution, then the search must be an honest one. You should adjust to the world as it is and work diligently and peacefully to change it for everyone’s benefit. You can do this by telling the truth and making it a matter of conscience. You will be at ease with yourself, with God and with your fellow man. 15 Chairman of the School Committee

To Mr. Edward Fitzgerald Our words of thanks cannot begin to repay his countless hours of work and devotion to our education at Bristol High. His efforts have made possible fond memories of our high school days. Though many of us do not know him personally, we value the companionship of his knowledge and devotion. As we take our next step in life, we can be assured that our schooling has prepared us fully to encounter those obstacles ahead; and through his efforts we are confident of success. We, the class of 1970, extend a special thanks and a hope for happiness and peace in his future years. With sincere appreciation we thank Mr. Edward J. Fitzgerald Superintendent 14
