“
BRISTOL SENIOR HIGH ALMA We praise our Alma Mater, Her spirit we shall keep, Of honesty, obedience, and loyalty so deep. God bless our own dear High School And keep her safe from wrong While we who love her memory lift up our voice in song. We learn from her to cherish Those ideals that we won. And ne’er to leave unfinished MATER The work we once begun. While trying hard to master The tasks we daily do, And now to Bristol High School, We'll ever more be true. So here’s to Alma Mater, On thee we praise bestow, For all the kind endeavors Our intellect to grow, While we still e’er remember As in those days of yore, We’ll pledge a deep devotion to thee for evermore. COLT SM3HCTNV ICATED TO RALPH NASH For sixteen years a TEACHER of Social Studies and Science in Bristol Senior High. Truly a COMPANION and a friend of this year’s Class and of all who have preceded us. They hail you as their Morning Star Because you are the way you are”. 5 Mr. John L. Burke, Principal PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE TO THE CLASS OF 1961 It is my hope that we have had a reasonable degree of success in promoting your intellectual, spiritual and moral growth. The test of this will come in the manner in which you are able to meet the social, economic and political problems of life. I urge you to think through on these problems and then have the courage of your own convictions. This would, of course, imply that you have been made aware of the complexity of the problems which our society holds for you and that your judgments will reflect an understanding of all their implications. Please accept my sincere thanks for your kindness and may you be happy and successful in your chosen fields of endeavor. 7 EDWARD J. FITZGERALD Superintendent of Bristol Schools E. After several hours of riding. New York finally hove into view and the expectations of new adventures were anxiously awaited. First there was the tour of the U.N. building, which proved to be revealing and fascinating for all. Then came R.C.A. Music City Hall where the travellers heard the Symphonic Orchestra and saw The World of Suzie Wong”. After the show and a brief orientation period the seniors were given an hour to do as they wished and it was this hour, beyond doubt, that provided the thrills of the day. Finally, as all good things must come to an end, the cameras, empty boxes and enlivened seniors boarded the buses at 7:00 p.m. that evening for home. After a journey full of related experiences, the seniors of Bristol Senior High arrived in Bristol at 11:30. That Old Gang of Mine” We re off! Here They Come Now!
