Class History Fall It was September, 1955 that a group of green sophomores, the future class of 1958, was waiting expectantly and nervously for the doors of Bristol Senior High School to open, to admit them to a new experience in education. After thje first few weeks of school had passed, we of 1958 became accustomed to the new routine of life. Our first school dance, new subjects, new friends and hard fought athletic contests—these were some of the happy events of our first semester in high school. As juniors, our returning to school was pleasant, and we were blase in the assurance that we still had another year at Colt. In October, class elections were held. Officers elected were: President, Joseph Antinucci; Vice-President, Frank Carmone; Secretary, Elizabeth Ann Medeiros and Treasurer, Rose Marie Rubino. The Executive Committee consisted of Katherine Bisbano, Linda Correia, Rosalind Matheson, John Pasqual, Mary Ellen Pereira, Anthony Siognoli, Joyce Squatrito, and Ronald Viera. Fall again, this time the fall of 1957, and we, the imperious seniors, returned to Colt; haughty but in a sense sad, for we knew that this would be our last, and we hoped, our best year of high school. The season flew by as we enjoyed the many activities which we found to be exclusive for seniors. A memorable class election, full of rivalry, was held. Because of an excess of enthusiasm, elections were postponed a week. The officers finally elected to guide our class were James Palreiro, President; Joseph Morra, Vice-President; Joyce Squatrito , Treasurer, and I, Julie Card, Secretary. Those elected to the Executive Committee were: Joseph Antinucci, Katherine Bisbano, Edward Goulart, Rosalind Matheson, Rose Marie Rubino, and David Usher. Then that long awaited day arrived. October 23, and every senior had in his hand a shining symbol of his high school career, a class ring. Fall of 1957 was climaxed by the annual Student Council Dance and Christmas Assembly, which seemed to us to be the finest ever presented. Winter As sophomores, our first winter at Colt was exciting, especially with the dread of mid-year examinations. These dreads were heightened by teasing seniors but vanished when we realized they weren't as horrifying as we had been led to believe. Soon March arrived, bringing with it our first class elections. Officers chosen were President, Anthony Mascola; Vice-President, Ronald Viera; Secretary, Rosalind Matheson, and Treasurer, Rose Marie Rubino. The Executive Committee consisted oi Eleanor Cavallaro, Mary Carol King, John Pasqual, and David Usher. 24
