Amy Carlton Wins DAR This year's winner of the DAR Good Citizenship Award was Amy Sue Carlton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Carlton. The DAR Award is based on four criteria: leadership, patriotism, dependability, and service. Amy has more than met these qualifications. She is sixth in her class, President of National Honor Society, and been in many of the school plays and musicals. Amy is also on the Pom-Pon Squad and actively participates on the Math and Scholastic Bowl Teams. After graduation, Amy plans to attend Western Illinois University and major in education. Bruce Emken Wins SAR This year's recipient of the Sons of the American Revolution Award was Bruce Edward Emken, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Emken. The SAR Award is given annually to someone who has proven himself a dependable, patriotic leader. For several years Bruce has participated in Basketball, Baseball, and on the Math and Scholastic Bowl Teams. He is also a member of National Honor Society, Spanish Club, Student Council, and is seventh in his class. After graduation, Bruce plans to attend the University of Illinois and major in advertising. 20 — SAR, DAR Awards
