Peggy Schnarr Spanish Radine Kellogg Science Lorraine Roliardi The directors of this large production had many unforeseen problems to deal with this school year. The Farm Progress Show and long weekends created by Mother Nature wreaked havoc with scheduling, but most of the problems were ironed out in the following weeks. There were, inevitably, problems of all sorts but like all directors say, ‘‘The show must go ii on. These directors work half way between Broadway of the East coast and Hollywood of the West. They enjoy the “melting pot” of the Midwest or the mixture of all types of people. This mixture produces excellent opportunities for both students and teachers to learn. Teachers in this “melting pot” become teachers because they are interested in helping students learn while enjoying the show.” The guidance of young adults is an exciting and often rewarding experience for those teachers who are true professionals and want to be teachers. Teaching may not be the most lucrative profession in the world, nor does it offer the best hours, but it is by far one of the most important and potentially rewarding. Directors — 7

The teachers of Brim-field High School have completed another year of directing.” Teachers are much like directors of plays or films. They guide students to learn their parts in life. Unlike the directors, teachers are the foundation of a never ending script — the script of life. Educational directors, however, are not content to sit behind the camera. They are always part of the scene. William Cinnamon Vocational Agriculture Lola Greenbaum English District Terri Broms P.E. The directors of Brim-field scenes” were not working for an Emmy or any Academy Award. The only reward these directors will want to receive is the actors’ cooperation. With this, the directors can help the actors develop their characters to their full potential. There are a multitude of teaching styles just as there are a multitude of actors and scenes to be directed. Some of these “directors” may disagree on how each scene should be handled, but they all agree that each scene is important and unique. Perhaps this is why there is more than one director.” As these students grow in their parts they will realize how important the director’s advice can be. The director will also see how important he can be. Neither the student or the teacher will ever stop learning — or changing. Just as directors sometimes change, so do faculty personnel. This year Kathy Burcham (a new teacher) had to leave mid-year when her husband changed jobs. She was replaced by Cindy Staley.
