Girls 1978 Varsity Basketball Coach Terry Hart's main goal for this year's Girls Varsity team was to better last year's record. The goal was not accomplished, but the play was just as good. The girls worked hard throughout the season as well as during the summer. Their goal was just a little out of reach. The highlight of the season was the Forman Tournament where Brimfield captured third place with an upset win over Delevan. A few of the girls who put in some long hours were Joyce Harmon (2), Mary Jo Short (5), Mary Ann Cinnamon (3), Brenda Peters (6), and Pam Edwards (4). The team worked hard this year, but lost in the first round of the Regionals in a very close game against Farmington. Perhaps with more experience the team will have a better season. This year's was a young team, starting a senior, two juniors, and two sophomores. The starters were given support from the rest of the team. Team members for the 1977-78 season were (1) left to right Mary Jo Short, Joyce Harmon, Amy Powers, Pam Edwards, Brenda Peters, Sue Bledsoe, bottom row Mary Ann Cinnamon, Mary Mathews, Denise Scovil, and Shelley Humphrey. 2 22

Hart Coaches Two Teams Practicing, working together, and getting along were high priorities for the girl's basketball teams. “I didn't have any problems with them at all, said Coach Hart, “They were just great. Probably they will get even greater. With an abundance of underclassmen, these teams show great potential for improvement within the next few years. Coach Hart gives encouraging words, but Pam Edwards looks more thirsty than tired (1). Joyce (2) attempts to capture a basket while Pam Edwards attempts to block an unfriendly effort (3).
