ADMINISTRATION SUPERINTENDENT Mr. Carl Jensen is the man who has the most complex job in the school, that of superintendent. He must keep discipline and handle all problems that may arise. In order to accomplish this he must have patience, devotion; and willingness to work. We thank Mr. Jensen for combining these with a good sense of humor to make our four years pleasant and productive. SECRETARY The girl behind the desk with the smile and the willingness to help is Mary Kay Blundy, our secretary. She has the awesome job of handling the requests and complaints of students as well as the office duties. She has done and admirable job of filling in for her mother, Mrs. Jensen, while she was ill and we thank her for her cheerful attitude and indespensible help. A National Merit Semifinalist his senior year, Kevin has also represented his class as valedictorian. As student council president this past year, Kevin provided the leadership of the student body. This office, however, was only one of a number of elective offices which Kevin held in his four years at Brimfield. They include National Society President, Chieftain staff, and holder of class offices. Positions of such responsibility require that those who are in these positions demonstrate qualities of capable and firm leadership, and Kevin's selection by classmates and faculty indicates that he possessed 16 the necessary potential. DAR Lynn Hatten, this year's recipient of the DAR award, caps four years of service to her high school classmates and faculty. A good student, Lynn provided leadership as editor of the Pow Wow her senior year, president of G.A.A., an active and vigorous cheerleader, a member of Student Council and F.H.A. , and holder of several class and co-curricular offices through the years. Despite these many concurrent activities she established a reputation for dependable and friendly cooperation. It comes as no surprise that from many potential candidates Lynn won the award. CHEERLEADERS Lynn Hattan, Connie Colgan, Cindy Carlson, Patty Blundy Mary Gilles BASEBALL ’66 Brimfield's baseball fortunes last fall went up and down and ended inauspiciously with a 3-5 record. Wins over LaFayette and a split with Yates City were balanced by losses to Williamsfield and Glasford, the eventual champs, in ICAC action. Bill Savage and George Schoenbeck were the seniors on a predominantly underclass team. Inexperience resulted in a light-hitting outfit which sometimes could not provide the runs to back up the good pitching of Larry Gutos and Bob McKown, both of whom return. Most of the games were close, and only the double dip victory over LaFayette’s undermanned nine and a shellacing by Glasford could be considered routs. With a crop of experienced underclassmen returning, including the pitching staff, the outlook for next year is fairly hopeful. The line up for the 1967 baseball season was as follows: Dale DeVries-Center Field, Jim Hattan-Right Field, Larry Pillman-Third Base, George Schoenbeck-First Base, Bob McKown-Shortstop, Dwayne North-Catcher, Larry Gutos-Pitcher, Bill Savage-Second Base, Joe Helms-Substitute, Dave Taylor-Left Field. 52 CHEERLEADERS IN ACTION Vicki Ward Patty Blundy MR.
